Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Our etho is the distinctive character and atmosphere of our school. The nature and concept of ethos is demonstrated in all aspects of school life. Derryboy Primary school is an Ulster-Scots Flagship co-educational, non-selective and non-denominational school with Christian ethos which respects the rights and beliefs of the individual. Traditional values which are transmitted include tolerance, respect, honesty, industry and integrity.
Our share values, intentions, aspirations and beliefs are transmitted through the pastoral system, in classroom practice, in written documentation, in relationships and day-to-day interactions between staff, pupils, parents, governors, visitors and wider community, in rituals (assemblies & one-off events) and in the physical environment.
